To differentiate sprouted Asian leaf vegetable (brassica)

Asian leaf vegetable seeds sowed outside in end of August has sprouted nicely with germination rate almost 100%. Before the first true leaves develop, the leaves shapes look similar between the Asian leaf vegetable (brassica) family. I would have trouble identifying which is which without labels.

  1. They look like cute tiny butterflies to me. :) Actually the first 2 leaves are not considered true leaves. That's why many of them look similar. The next 2 leaves should be different. So did the white eggs hatched?

  3. Wow, those sure are exotic vegetables! I'm quite envious. I get only get mizuna where I live (Netherlands). I love it, especially as it grows very early in the year (before any other vegetable).

Thank you for visiting my blog in August. I grow dahlia's from tuber. They are readily available here - in all the colors of the rainbow.

  4. 大阪はやっと猛暑日が峠を越えました。やっと秋冬野菜の準備ができます。とりあえず白菜、大根はmustです。

At last we can feel the end of hot summer this week!
That can allow us to start preparation of autumn-winter vegetables.
