While I was organising my 'Aussie brown' onion flower pictures, I just realised how interesting the onion bloom stages were to observe. Am I the only one who has been ignorant about this stages of bloom for brown onion? Please let me share with you and hope you enjoy it.
The flower bud ~early stages.
The bud becoming fat and soon to bloom.
New bloom.
The first pollen to develop and peek outside.
More pollen. Can you see a small admirer on the pollen?
In its full bloom. Hopefully some were well pollinated to produce seeds for next generation.
Have a nice weekend!
I have seen lots of photos of onion flowers on blogs but none showing the development. Aren't they just amazing and gorgeous? Thankyou!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos - thankyou!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I LOVE allium flowers. So gorgeous - nothing quite like them. Looking forward to the garlic flowers too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely flower coming from a common vege we eat almost everyday!
ReplyDeleteLike the photos. Actually a very neat bloom.

It is amazing how many vegetables have lovely flower but then we do buy ornamental alliums for our gardens and they are just non edible onions.
ReplyDeleteYes spotted the little fly!
masyallah..amazing!!Cm tak pernah lihat bunga bawang seperti ini.
ReplyDeleteI am truly amazed with your photo presentation. Love it.

I love onion flowers too, but I just never let them go to seed so mine never get to bloom.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful!! I've never seen them before! Happy ramadhan Kadazan girls!
ReplyDeleteI mean, Malay Kadazan girls :)
ReplyDeleteSorry tersalah tulis :)
banyak dapat ikan?hehe patut lah diam je rupanya Diana ke laut jadi nelayan :) selamat berbuka puasa.
ReplyDeleteHazel~I would not notice the development if not I was organising my pictures of them. Nice surprise to see how they develop.
ReplyDeleteLiz~ Thank you. Happy that you enjoy it.
Mrs Bok~I wonder if this year there will be garlic scape for us to harvest.
Autumn Belle~Pretty flowers to attract admirers so it will be well-pollinated.
Cher~ The last photo looks to be a very old bloom already.
Sue~I saw some ornamental alliums family that thrive in shade and have been daydreaming of having it living in our small garden here. Since we have so many shade places here. The little fly seems not want to go anywhere else.
Cikmanggis~ Ikan tak de rezeki pula kali ni. Tapi ketam ada rezeki :). Sotong pun ada sikit. CM suka ketam masak apa?
Cassy~Wish I am more a good photographer.
Daphne~This one is growing in container so I did not worry much about the space. Its really a tough decision to wait for them to flower since it will occupy the space for a long time. More than a year.
Jody~Thank you. Happy that you enjoy it.
I amsterdam~Happy Ramadhan to you too!
That is a great series of photo. Bravo.
ReplyDeletebeautiful and admiring the photos as well and thanks for the reply regarding the bittergourd.
ReplyDeleteEllada~Oh thank you :). Happy.
ReplyDeleteLena~No worries. We hope we will able to collect seeds from them.
