First Native Plants and Bulb Crazy (Tawaran Benih Bunga Sukar diperolehi)

DSC01558
For the first time we went to our local ABC market which is held twice a year last Saturday. I have been in Adelaide for almost 4 years and this is the first time I bought Australia native plants. I reckon I got a reasonable price AUD$5.00 perplant. It will be very good for the birds and other little creature maybe. I still don't remember those plant names:
(1) Melalueca decussata
(2) Eremophila polyclada x divaricata (summertime blue)
(3) Bracelet Honey Myrtle
(4) Acacia floribunda (gossamer wattle)
(5) Callistemon (violaceus)

I appreciate any advice since this is not plants that I am familiar with. All the labels wrote that it is drought-tolerant plant.
What I have been daydreaming lately? Flower Bulb!!!
My head is filled with flower grown from bulbs which hopefully be blooming right after I gave birth to the little one which constantly move so much at night I have trouble sleeping. What to do when you can't sleep? Dream of colourful blooming flowers. This is the first time I bought so many different varieties of flower bulbs.  Some of the ordered bulbs has arrived today like the flower above. Expecting mother should crave for certain taste of food. But I crave for flower bulbs this month. The month of May will be busy with planting flower bulbs. With food, I can't get it here to satisfy my cravings. So the flower will do.

Sesiapa yang ingin mendapatkan benih bunga seperti di gambar atas atau jenis lain, Sila klik gambar di atas untuk ke laman lain bagi penerangan lanjut. Stok adalah terhad, siapa cepat dia dapat ;-).

The first time I experience planting flower bulb was last year with lots of encouragement (Thank you). I am already addicted to it. I missed our ranunculas and other flower bulbs blooming so brightly in the garden last year.

Now I am admiring spring blooms from gardeners in the Northern Hemisphere.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful bloom and garden.

I love the fall bulbs. My townhouse mate and I bought a lot last fall. The house is new so there weren't any in the yard yet. Daffadils have always been my favorites. She liked irises so we got a lot of those for out her front and back doors.

Nice selection of natives. My front garden is all natives and I do very very little to them and they seem to appreciate that. Most natives are happy to be left alone although even if they are drought tolerant you'll have to water them in their first year or two until they are established. They don't like much in the way of feeding and some are sensitive to phosphorus so stick to fertiliser designed for natives if you fertilise them at all.

After growing veg. plants for a considerable duration of time I guess anyone will venture into growing flowers. I can see your attraction to them. The same flower craze has only begun for me here.

Good luck with the new plants.

The handmade nameplate of your top photo is so lovely.
I also can't wait blooms of your spring flower bulbs.
I have spring star in full bloom now,but I didn't know it to be Austraria native plants.
I think,it surely is a drought-tolerant plant.
I'm thinking I want to add something new in my garden like you.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble sleeping. I am a terrible insomniac. Sometimes I read to encourage myself back to sleep. When I am up because I am worried about something, I just lie their and fret for hours. Then, in the morning, I am exhausted. I refuse to take any sleeping aids though.
I know nothing about native plants from your area of the world and so look forward to seeing the them grow and bloom. Spring bulbs are addictive! Right now, all my daffodils are out. I have lots of different varieties and love the way they mix together.

Daphne~Your daffodils put a very spectacular show and I admire it very much. I have some daffodil bulbs but its probably still to warm for me to plant them. Can't wait to see how your iris will bloom.

Cher~Times really fly in the garden. I am waiting now for my tree dahlia to bloom. Saw some buds already on the plants this morning.

Charmcitybalconygarden~Oh I truely hope so.

Liz~Thanks for the tips appreciate it much. Yeah before it is establised must water them, although they are drought-tolerant.

Rainfield61~Suddenly my usual header did not show up. Had to change.

Sue~I wish I have space like your plot. So we can grow more cut flowers.

Sri Ranjani~I found that planting flowers that attract beneficial insects together with veggies are good. Make me less worry about taking care of veggies.Flowers attract pollinators too.

Fifi Flowers~ We are lucky that our autumn season is like second spring.

Lena~ada geng nanti...hehehe...more pembantu dekat kebun.

Gardener on Sherlock Street~Thanks. I hope the natives will grow well.

James Missier~I saw some of the bulbs growing in tropical region so I think it is possible to grow them. But not during wet season to prevent those bulbs got rotten in water-logged soil. Most of my selections are natives from Afrika which does have wet season.

Mark~Happy that the chervil and aquilegia seeds that I sent has germinated in your garden.

Cookingvarieties~It will be a very happy memory if I get them blooming. You take care too.

Anonymous~ You are making me blush.

Kumittyi~The handmade nameplate is a gift from a very talented friend.Spring star is not australia native plant, If not mistaken it is from Africa.

Tina~I have been adding little by little collection of flower bulbs in our garden.

Jennifer~I am like that too. I have been told recently that I am mentally depressed, many anxieties. I have been referred to see social worker. I guess I bottled up lots of things inside.
Your garden has keep on motivating and inspiring me to try lots of things.
